QED is a Brussels based conference organizer specialized in EU public affairs events. Our team combines profound knowledge of EU affairs with many years of experience in event management. We have two lines of business, own-in initiated events, which we organize in our own name and bespoke events, where we provide tailor-made event management services to our clients.

Job Description:

As a trainee at QED you will work closely with colleagues in all stages of the “event life cycle’’. The internship will ideally start January 2018 and last six months. A development plan and specific tasks for this internship will be set up.

The key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Coordinating our team’s effort for the events you will be in charge of;
  • Booking venues, catering and other subcontractors. This include collecting offers and negotiating prices;
  • Coordination with the subcontractors being used;
  • Speaker management;
  • Book hostesses;
  • Follow-up phone calls to key participants;
  • Identifying possible events of interest by conducting market research;
  • Managing and updating our contact list, followed by the integration in the CRM system;
  • Work as a host/hostess at the events when requested.

Qualifications/Skill Requirements:

  • Highly driven individual, always striving to achieve excellence in everything you do;
  • Business orientated. (Entrepreneurial mind-set);
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team;
  • Ability to communicate in a multicultural environment;
  • Capability to prioritize and work with several projects at the same time;
  • Self-going and being able to take own initiatives in several situations;
  • Fluent in English and French (written and oral). Any additional EU language would be considered an asset;
  • Relevant university degree: communication, marketing or similar;
  • Good computer skills & know-how. Any proven technical/graphical experience will be considered an asset.

Type of contract: 6 months paid internship (CIP contract) which potentially can be turned into a permanent position.
