SYNDEX Europe & International recruits an INTERN for its Brussels Office.

Syndex a key consultancy company in France has recently started its activities in Brussels. Our small office, based in the city centre will develop quickly.

For more than 40 years Syndex has been working with employee representatives and has developed a dedicated and highly skilled multidisciplinary team of experts recognized as such right across Europe.  We offer a high quality, strategic and tailor-made support service to our clients and partners.

We provide this expertise to the members of European Works Councils, national trade unions and European trade union federations, European and International Institutions.

Syndex has offices in Belgium, France (Headquarters), Spain, Poland, the UK and Romania, Our experts are native speakers, have extensive knowledge of local and national employment issues and knowledge of country specific employment and political landscapes. Our relationships with employee representatives and trade unions extend across all sectors and we have provided support to worker representatives in a range of sectors, including paper manufacture, aerospace, civil aviation, automotive, insurance, banking, engineering, energy, local government, commerce, sport and leisure, health, food and drink, civil aviation, printing and packaging.

Tasks to be performed:

The selected candidate will contribute to the office activities regarding:

  • Research on multinational companies of interest to Syndex; drafting reports and summaries in English language;
  • Participating in European projects: collecting information from surveys, summarising information, desk research;
  • Following up and summarising key information on European policies on employment and social affairs (desk research) and participating in meetings organised by EU institutions, trade unions or Think Tanks and summarising the debates;
  • Example of topics covered: the impact of digitalisation on workers in Europe, the evolution of collective agreements and setting up new European Works councils.

Candidates profile:

Candidates must have an interest in and understanding of the EU policy and decision-making world, possibly through a degree in European studies or prior experience within the EU institutions.

Candidates must be very motivated in working on industrial relations and social dialogue between trade unions and employers. Knowledge of specific EU policies is helpful, but we are looking for creative individuals and team players to join our team and learn about EU consultancy on the job.

Starting: 01 February 2018.
Period: 4 to 6 months.
Languages required: English, French. Dutch is an asset.
