Oxford Research Sweden is looking for an experienced Analyst/Senior Analyst to further develop our capacity in the EU market.

Oxford Research’s Stockholm office offers an engaged and dynamic team of consultants who specialise in evaluation and research across a wide range of policy areas for public-sector clients in Sweden, the Nordic countries and European institutions, especially different Directorates-General of the European Commission and Eurofound (the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions). Part of Oxford Group, we are an exciting and fast-growing consulting firm that deals with interesting and meaningful applied research. Our core tasks consist of designing and delivering high-quality evaluations (of an ex-ante, longitudinal or ex-post nature) and other research studies. In all cases, the purpose of such work is to provide clients with evidence to inform decision-making and improve accountability.

About the role

Oxford Research Sweden is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Analyst or Senior Analyst with significant previous experience in evaluation and research to further develop our capacity in the EU as well as domestic and Nordic markets. This is with a particular view to recent growth in our work for different Directorates-General of the European Commission, such as those dealing in taxation, customs, public health, food, research and innovation policies, as well as Eurofound and other EU institutions. Candidates are invited to express a particular interest in any one of these areas, but ideally, we’d like to recruit someone able to work flexibly across our range of policy areas and clients.

A positive ‘can-do’ attitude, an analytical mind, and an ability to deal with complex projects are required. The role will include the following main responsibilities, to be adjusted based on the successful candidate’s level of experience:

  • Delivering evaluation and research projects, designing approaches and methodologies, gathering and analysing evidence, and writing high-quality reports for our clients (in particular the EU institutions);
  • Overseeing evaluation and research projects and internal and external teams to ensure that high-quality standards, financial and other targets are met;
  • Helping to grow the business by leading bid teams, identifying and pursuing opportunities in new and existing markets, building and maintaining a network of internal and external contacts and developing the technical capacity of the practice;
  • Mentoring, coaching and line-managing other members of the team to contribute to their professional development;
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the company.

The role is full-time and based in Stockholm, with short (up to one week) trips abroad nearly certain. Oxford Research offers a competitive salary and 25 days of leave per year.

About you

To fill this post, we are looking for an evaluation professional with a specific set of skills and experience. A successful Analyst candidate will have at least two years of relevant work experience, whereas a successful Senior Analyst candidate will have at least five years of relevant experience, and demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

Essential attributes:

  • Significant previous professional experience in evaluation of public policies and programmes;
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills, and a very good understanding of different quantitative and qualitative social research methods and techniques;
  • Significant project and client management experience and good commercial acumen;
  • Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, and meet tight deadlines;
  • A university degree (ideally a Masters);
  • Excellent command of English (at or near-native level).

Desirable attributes:

  • Experience of working with the EU institutions and/or Swedish public authorities;
  • Experience of working in a consultancy environment;
  • Expertise in a specific policy area where Oxford Research either works or could work;
  • Fluency in Swedish;
  • Fluency in other languages.
