The European Banking Federation (EBF) is seeking to recruit a trainee for its Digital & Retail team.

The European Banking Federation (EBF) is the voice of the European banking sector, uniting 32 national banking associations in Europe, which together represent some 4,500 banks – large and small, wholesale and retail, local and international – employing about 2.1 million people.


The trainee will support the EBF on digital issues in particular cybersecurity, digital skills as well as data, cloud and Fintech developments.

A non-exhaustive list of responsibilities includes:

  • monitoring policy and regulatory developments on digital, including cybersecurity, digital skills as well as data, cloud computing and Fintech developments etc.;
  • providing support to the policy advisers on a daily basis in analysing documents and conducting research on specific issues/questions;
  • organising meetings with policymakers and stakeholders and draft minutes of meetings;
  • helping to organise events and attending events and conferences;
  • reporting to the relevant policy advisers and EBF Members;
  • building stakeholder mapping;
  • concise and informative writing.


The successful candidate will:

  • have an excellent command of English (oral and written – a native speaker being an asset);
  • have an academic background in Law or Political Administration – knowledge of European Affairs is an asset;
  • be a fast learner;
  • have strong analytical and research skills;
  • have good communication and teamworking skills with an ability to take initiative and to build a network;
  • have strong organisational skills with ability to keep deadlines;
  • have good writing skills with attention to detail;
  • be highly motivated and flexible.


As soon as possible.


Internship/convention of professional immersion: 6 months (renewable).
