Imagination – Creativity – Fun – Learning – Caring – Quality

The LEGO Foundation is a Danish corporate foundation headquartered in Billund and working globally. We passionately believe in the power of play in education and social development more broadly. Our aim is to build a future where learning through play empowers children to become creative, engaged life-long learners. Children benefit from the transformative power of learning through play to develop the social, cognitive, physical, emotional and creative skills to serve them, their communities and society throughout a lifetime.

Competitive Compensation

The Advocacy Lead is a newly created role that will be responsible for The LEGO Foundation’s global advocacy efforts, ensuring that the potential for play and creativity in learning and early childhood development is communicated with impact, giving children the skills they need to thrive and become lifelong learners. The role will initially develop the Foundation’s advocacy approach, before transitioning to a greater focus on developing a portfolio of investments in support of our aim to influence policy, shape dialogues and change behaviors. The Advocacy Lead will have a strong focus on working across the organisation to ensure that the advocacy framework is reinforcing the programme and research work already taking place and encouraging integration of everything the Foundation does.

This is a key role in the Foundation, and we are seeking a candidate with a demonstrable track record of significant advocacy wins. The role will require you to be highly strategic combined with a willingness and ability to deliver tactically on the ground. You will ideally have in-depth knowledge of the education or early childhood development sectors, experience of working with partners in the Global South, and experience of engaging with governments, NGOs and private sector organisations. With excellent communications and partnership management skills, you will also have strong knowledge of impact measurement, evaluation and learning frameworks. A self-starter, you thrive on innovative thinking, working at pace and in a solution focused environment. Finally, you share our passion for play and creativity in learning and social development.
