2. Job Description

Reporting to: Deputy Managing Director - in charge of FWC coordination
Travel %: Up to 20% (depending on projects)
Suggested starting date: 14th May 2018 (Ideally)

Context:

As a result of the acquisition of several long term contracts including the FWC Contracts External Aid SIEA 2018:

  • Lot 3 Human Rights, Democracy and Peace: - Lead Partner;
  • Lot 4 Human Development and Safety Net: - Consortium Partner;
  • Lot 5 Budget Support: - Consortium Partner;
  • Lot 6 Innovating Financing for Development: - Consortium Partner.

B&S Europe is looking for recruiting a SPM that will work as a Coordinator for the newly established FWC Unit able to develop technical expertise (especially in rule of law and innovative financing), strengthen management experience (management of several project managers).

Main responsibilities include:

The SPM will be required to strategically analyze the flow of missions, communicate with the different technical departments, interpret data and capitalize the knowledge of the FWC missions.

  • Establish a strategic approach to answer to EU’s requests;
  • Manage the working flow of the FWC contracts in the lots mentioned above;
  • Consolidate B&S positioning in rule of law;
  • Ability to prepare/supervise and coordinate methodologies for more complex missions;
  • Participate to developing creative and efficient project management for missions won;
  • Supervise a Team of FWC staff in charge of preparing FWC missions (minimum 6 employees);
  • Secure a good working relation with experts;
  • Secure a positive image and reputation of B&S;
  • Conduct field monitoring missions to backstopping in relevant FWC projects.

3. Description of the ideal profile

Academic Background:

  • Graduate in Law, Economics, Marketing, Political Sciences, or Social Sciences – preferred but not mandatory.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cooperation & Development;
  • Experience with FWC BENEF or COM is a must - at least 2 years;
  • Experience in Project Implementation;
  • Demonstrated coordination ability is highly desired.

Languages:

  • Excellent English and French;
  • Spanish or Portuguese is an asset.
