Dods Group PLC is an unrivalled intelligence, media, events and training specialist, and publisher of the highly regarded Parliament magazine.

Dods is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Event Manager to support the direction, development and management of the EU projects portfolio and oversee our EU policy events and flagship Awards programme to ensure smooth and successful event execution.

The postholder will need to support sales and business development efforts to market events as well as building strong relationships with clients and legislators to achieve positive outcomes for our stakeholders and policymakers.

This position will require managing events from concept to completion tailored to individual client's needs, consulting with sales team, clients and legislators on events goals, themes and audience, managing budgets, timelines, and other core logistics leading up to the event, ensuring that events are delivered in a cost-effective manner with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing the broad range of events, receptions, awards and conferences;
  • Budget and timeline management;
  • To proactively identify and develop events opportunities;
  • Updating and maintain website content;
  • Managing events social media content;
  • Developing client events agenda, programmes and delegate packs;
  • Managing invitations, registration sites, guest lists and databases;
  • Working with internal stakeholders including the Editor of Parliament magazine, sales and account managers and marketing colleagues;
  • Increase the profile and exposure of our EU events through marketing strategies and campaigns;
  • Securing keynote speakers;
  • Managing floor plans, catering and production teams and developing good working relationship with suppliers;
  • To establish professional working relationships with key stakeholders and policymakers to encourage repeat business;
  • Post -event follow-ups and evaluation.

Competencies:

  • Minimum 2 years-experience in events or similar work;
  • A sound understanding of the EU political and policy landscape;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills in English and French;
  • Multicultural awareness and sound diplomatic and political sense;
  • Strong organisational and prioritising skills;
  • Attention to details, initiative and creativity;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Team spirit and reliability;
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing demands and availability to travel.
