The European Business & Innovation Centre Network (EBN) is a network of around 150 quality-certified EU|BICs (business and innovation centres) and 70 other organisations that support the development and growth of innovative entrepreneurs, start-ups, and SMEs.

EBN’s core business is creating and maintaining a network of high-quality providers of services to innovative entrepreneurs. To this end, the EBN certification process is key in order to assure high quality services by it EUBIC members.

EBN is also active in the management of a wide portfolio of EU funded projects whose end goal is to improve the capacity building of innovative entrepreneurs.

The EBN HQ is based in Brussels, with a dynamic team composed of a mix of nationalities and profiles as background.

In this framework, EBN is recruiting for immediate start a researcher, to take ownership of the annual survey and benchmarking exercise, certification process and further ad hoc research for EBN and EU projects.

Tasks - The duties and tasks for this position will include, but are not restricted to:

  • Collect and review surveys for business innovation centres; ensure completeness and accuracy of information; follow up with subjects to resolve problems or clarify issues with data collected;
  • Create benchmarking and impact reports with collected data;
  • Manage the certification process for EU|BICs;
  • Prepare findings for publication and assist in analysis, quality control, or data management;
  • Create progress and sector-specific research reports;
  • Identify and compile lists of potential research subjects in accordance with study objectives and parameters;
  • Develop assessment and evaluation tools.

Requirements - Applicants are required to have the following skills:

  • Sound analytical skills;
  • University degree in Finance/Economics/Business/Statistics;
  • An excellent command of mathematics and sound proficiency working with excel spreadsheets;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, other languages are a benefit;
  • Proficiency writing progress or research-based reports;
  • A sound knowledge of innovation-related topics;
  • Ability to multi-task and work to meet tight deadlines;
  • Excellent communication & presentational skills.

Desirable:

  • Ability to multitask, work well under pressure and respect deadlines;
  • Ability to network and work in a multi-cultural team;
  • Proven organisational skills;
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office package;
  • Knowledge of European and International Institutions.
