Purpose of the Position

The European Banking Federation (EBF) is seeking to recruit a full-time trainee for its Financing Growth team.

The EBF Financing Growth Team is responsible for the policies and activities related to supporting the financing and growth of the European Economy as one of the key priorities of the EBF.

  • Business Finance, including SME finance, Export Credits, Alternative financing methods;
  • Financial Markets: Primary, secondary markets and post-trading issues;
  • Wider growth policies and focused research;
  • Sustainable finance.

Detailed responsibilities

The trainee will support the EBF Financing Growth team.

A non-exhaustive list of responsibilities includes:

  • Research on specific issues/questions related to EU Capital Markets Union, jobs & growth agenda, financial markets, SMEs, sustainability issues and other relevant policies for the activities of the team;
  • Provide support regarding preparation of internal and external meetings or events (slides, briefing materials, data gathering, etc.), agenda coordination and outreach to EU institutions, EBF members and other stakeholders;
  • Support the advocacy efforts of the team;
  • Administrative tasks (e.g. document management, management of members' network);
  • Monitoring of press/websites of EU institutions and financial publications.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • An academic background in finance/economy/law/political science/international relations or other areas relevant for the position;
  • Must be an EU citizen (with the necessary permits to work throughout the EU);
  • Previous internship experience within an EU or international institution would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of EU Affairs and/or EU regulatory process;
  • Knowledge of financial markets is a plus;
  • Excellent command of English (oral and written); good drafting skills;
  • Good communications and team working skills;
  • Strong organisational skills, IT knowledge and ability to take initiative;
  • Show considerable commitment to his/her work, enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards the various projects for which he/she will be responsible;
  • Demonstrate a “can do” and pro-active attitude in identifying potential issues of interest;
  • Be highly motivated and flexible.
