SourceData (sourcedata.embo.org) is as an open platform developed by EMBO that makes the research data in scientific papers directly searchable. SourceData uses a combination of artificial intelligence and expert curation to make data searchable, interconnected and openly accessible as an integral part of the journal publication process.
EMBO is looking for Scientific and Outreach Coordinator to join the SourceData team and serve as coordinator, workflow controller and lead of outreach activities of the project.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the implementation of Open Science at the heart of scientific publishing.
Key tasks of the Scientific and Outreach Coordinator include quality control, project management and outreach.
A PhD in molecular cell biology or in computational with a broad knowledge in life sciences.
You have successfully managed and developed multiple scientific projects. You have experience in successfully coordinating the work of multiple collaborators or across multiple parties. You are meticulous, know how to organize multiple streams of work and have experience in defining and checking the application of best practice guidelines or standards. You have used a broad range of software and online tools and quickly find your way around new tools. You are a team player, have an enthusiastic personality and want to actively promote the principles of open science. You have excellent written and oral English language skills.
Experience in grant writing and scientific management.
