Kellen is the leading professional services firm dedicated to creating, managing and advising EU and global trade associations and interest groups. Kellen is currently looking for an Association Manager.

Job description:

The Association Manager will be a member of client association teams operating in the food sector.

The main roles of the Association Manager will be to:

  • Developing and leading the implementation of public affairs and regulatory programs of associations in close cooperation with the Senior Association Manager;
  • Monitoring and analyzing relevant policy, regulatory and legislative initiatives at EU and international levels, primarily in the field of the food policy and food safety;
  • Leading the development of positions on technical and regulatory issues, identifying the best strategies to advocate positions and support their implementation in close cooperation with the staff team and the association leadership;
  • Participating in working group meetings/calls and proactively drive the working group’ agenda and action implementation;
  • Representing the associations in relevant fora at legislative and regulatory level;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (notably EU Institutions, agencies and other associations);
  • Offering day-to-day support to the associations’ leadership and working bodies.

Profile:

  • Master’s level degree plus very good knowledge of the food industry or bio-chemical research with insights in food science and safety legislation;
  • A good knowledge on the functionality of enzymes/background in biochemistry or similar is a plus;
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Public and Regulatory Affairs in the food industry at EU/International level (eg. trade association, consultancy, corporate representation…);
  • Relevant knowledge of the EU Institutions and their functioning - good network of contacts in EU institutions is a plus;
  • Experience in working with trade associations and/or in the industry;
  • Outstanding analytical/research skills and proven accuracy;
  • Very good writing, communicative and presentational skills;
  • Excellent written and spoken English and proficient knowledge of at least 1 other language;
  • Self-starter and strong team player, quality and result oriented and willing to work in an international environment.
