Landell Mills International has been shortlisted for the EU-funded programme "Advisory Services for Resilient Agri-Food Systems" (ASRAFS).

The expected start date for the contract is November 2019 and the duration will be of 48 months from this date.

We are looking to recruit a Team Leader, expert in Food & Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture (FNSSA) policies, who will be responsible for the overall coordination and delivery of the advisory service. The post will be home-based in Europe with short missions to Bruxelles, for an estimated 130 working days per year.

Qualifications and skills

  • University degree in agricultural economics or a relevant, directly related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and French;
  • Good knowledge of Arabic, Spanish and/or Portuguese will be an asset;
  • Fully computer literate, proficient user of Microsoft Office and good understanding of database software;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

General professional experience

  • At least 10 years of professional experience, covering formulation, implementation and evaluation of policies, programmes and projects in areas related to FNSSA in developing countries;
  • At least 5 years of experience at field level in FNSSA in least developed or middle income countries;
  • At least 2 successful experiences of minimum 12 months each in leading a multicultural team;
  • At least 2 successful experiences in leading an evaluation mission.

Specific professional experience

  • At least 5 years of experience related to institutional support to State and/or parastatal organisations in FNSSA development policies in developing countries;
  • At least 2 field experiences of more than 6 months in managing an EU-funded project or programme in developing countries, in a DEVCO C1 relevant domain;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of recent EU development cooperation strategies and policies;
  • Demonstrable command of the latest developments and research in the fields of FNSSA at international level.
