The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities (www.the-guild.eu), composed of 19 of Europe’s leading universities across 14 countries, is looking to fill the position of Communications and Policy Officer (1-3 years of relevant experience). This is a critical role for The Guild, as the need for the awareness of the benefits of research and education amongst policy-makers and the public has never been greater.
As the Communications and Policy Officer (CPO), you will support the Secretary-General and the Head of Policy in maintaining and enhancing a strong public profile for the Guild. As CPO, you will be instrumental in making sure that The Guild’s public visibility (through its website, twitter, the opinion pieces written by the office, and its publications) is effective and as good as it can be. You will work with the entire team to ensure that the reach of The Guild’s communications is maximized – among policy-makers, in social media, and in the key journals relevant to the sector. In conjunction with colleagues from our universities’ communications teams, you will develop and implement an effective communication strategy for the network. You will have a good command of EU policy-making, and work on a number of policy briefs as appropriate.
