Profile Group is looking for an Operations Director for their client PRACE located in 1050 BRUSSELS.

FUNCTION

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Managing Director;
  • Member of the Board of Directors;
  • Responsible for the development, improvement and the management of the activities relating to the PRACE Peer Review Process and Project Management;
  • Support the PRACE vision, mission and strategic objectives;
  • Represent PRACE externally.

Implement the PRACE Peer Review Process as scoped by the PRACE Council:

In collaboration with the PRACE Access Committee and the PRACE Partners:

  • Supervise the planning and execution of the Calls for Proposals;
  • Coordinate the collection of information;
  • Make sure the Calls for Proposals are documented;
  • Ensure that the principles underlying the Peer Review Process are respected;
  • You are responsible for organising necessary meetings and minuting them;
  • Report results to applicants and computer centres;
  • Follow-up the treatment of appeals to the allocation decisions;
  • Collect results data from the lead scientists.

Improve and implement the Peer Review Process Procedures and Tools:

  • Ensure the procedures are documented and up to date;
  • You are responsible for making sure the IT tools are always available;
  • Assure all collected data is in compliance with legal constraints.

Maintain the Peer Review Process Data:

  • Propose and maintain the indicators linked to the Peer Review Process;
  • Coordinate data analysis as required;
  • Ensure the availability of the results for publication.

Coordinate Programmes Supporting Users' Access:

  • Identify actions that would improve applicants' and awardees' effectiveness and coordinate their implementation;
  • Manage PRACE'S participation in collaborative projects.

Peer Review Process Development:

  • Identify opportunities to improve the process;
  • Ensure the Scientific Communities expectations are met;
  • Discern the need for alternative Access Modes;
  • Improve the Research Infrastructure's effectiveness;
  • Draft the documentation connected to the developments in collaboration with relevant PRACE bodies;
  • Follow-up the decision making process.

Manage EC and EuroHPC Funded Projects:

  • Coordinate and contribute to the submission of project proposals (EC Funded Projects);
  • Develop and manage Peer Review services;
  • SPOC for PRACE'S members for funded projects;
  • Administrative and financial project management and reporting.

Member of the Board of Directors:

  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of PRACE'S work programmes;
  • Involved in preparing the annual budget;
  • Participate in preparing the management report, the annual accounts etc.;
  • Present the PRACE Peer Review Process in diverse international meetings;
  • Some travel may be required.

PROFILE

Your Profile

  • PhD in Computer Sciences OR Engineering OR Physics;
  • Minimum 10 years professional experience with minimum 5 years' experience in managing scientific calls for proposals OR similar scientific activities;
  • Experienced in project management and in EC funding programmes;
  • Experience in IT implementation projects is an asset;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English including public presentation and workshop facilitation skills;
  • Collaborative approach with internal and external international stakeholders;
  • Highly motivated by the job content.
