JOB SUMMARY

The Manager - Mobility of People & Taxi is responsible for all matters related to running the IRU Group “Taxis and Hire Cars with Driver” (TA) and related meetings, events, campaigns and advocacy activities working in close coordination with the Senior Advisor – Passenger Transport as general responsible for mobility of people matters. The Manager – Mobility of People & Taxi will develop trust-based relationships with members, relevant public and private partners, government officials, politicians, industry representatives and other third party stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and analyse policy, market and legislative trends, set priorities and develop effective strategies and implementing actions, enabling sustainable operations for taxis in line with IRU’s positions on taxi matters;
  • Develop, as required, actions and positions on taxi legislation;
  • Monitor and influence the legislative and policy environment;
  • In conjunction with other functions, develop and build strong alliances with third party stakeholders;
  • Lead and manage the work programme, meetings, events and corresponding budget of the Taxi Group;
  • Coordinate within the IRU Secretariat and Delegations, and with other relevant IRU bodies and partners the political strategies and activities concerning mobility of people using taxis, platforms and other services, including the actions to be undertaken by the IRU Members at national level and their follow up;
  • Undertake the responsibility that all the invitations, agendas and reports of all the Taxi Group meetings and conferences, as well as all the Taxi Group documents;
  • Contributing effectively to the enlargement of the taxi group by attracting new members, reconciling and integrating in the TA activity corporates members and taxi federations;
  • Coordinate the work on digitisation in passenger transport, including Mobility As a Service (MAAS);
  • Replace “Obtaining new members and partners” by “Contributing effectively to the enlargement of the taxi group by attracting new members, reconciling and integrating in the TA activity corporates members and taxi federations”; and
  • Attend events and meetings to give public presentations such as representing TA in discussions with EU institutions, unions and other stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to conduct, outreach and develop trust-based relationships with government officials, politicians, industry representatives and other third party stakeholders;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team;

  • Experience in multicultural environment;
  • Understand the sense of urgency & drive change;
  • Industry and Road Transport knowledge with a focus on Taxis and Passenger transport;
  • Customer centric.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, International Affairs, Business, or equivalent experience required;
  • 4 – 6 years of professional experience – includes policy/advocacy work for corporations or trade associations;
  • Proven ability to understand and clearly communicate policy;
  • Superior communication (oral and written) and networking skills;
  • Proven ability to conduct outreach and develop trust-based relationships with government officials, politicians, industry representatives and other third party stakeholders;
  • Experience in passenger transport and tourism;
  • Fluent in English; French and/or German a plus. Any other language is an asset.
