We are looking for an experienced IT auditor in the Internal Audit division. The IT auditor will be in charge of covering the IT risks both in IT and in integrated audit assignments.

The European Stability Mechanism is seeking candidates to fill the position of IT auditor in the Internal Audit division. The IT auditor will be in charge of covering the IT risks both in IT and in integrated audit assignments.

The selected person will report to the Head of Internal Audit.

The European Stability Mechanism (“ESM”) is the permanent crisis resolution mechanism for the countries of the euro area. It has launched five financial assistance programmes, provided financial support, monitored repayment capacity and engaged with partner institutions in the design of programmes in particular in areas of financial interest. The ESM has just received an expanded mandate from the European Leaders, which it will implement in the months and years ahead. The ESM will have a stronger role in the analysis of financial stability risks and design of policy measures in programmes jointly with the European Commission.

The ESM is a unique place to work, with around 180 individuals committed to making a difference to the future of the euro area. It recruits talented professionals of any nationality, from both the private and public sector.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead end-to-end IT audit assignments (from planning to reporting);
  • Examine and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of IT general controls as well as application controls and IT governance;
  • Coordinate the annual internal audit risk assessment providing inputs on IT risks;
  • Discuss audit findings and recommendations with line managers and report significant issues to senior management;
  • Provide technical expertise and independent opinion on the IT risks and control environment;
  • Participate in the post audit follow-up;
  • Occasionally participate in IT advisory projects.

KEY BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field is required (IT, Engineering);
  • CISA certification is required. CISSP, CISM and other information security qualifications are desirable;
  • Strong knowledge of IT risks, controls, governance and related audit techniques, and control frameworks (COSO, COBIT);
  • 5+ years working in IT internal audit for a financial institution or a major audit firm;
  • Experience in reviewing technical areas such as application development, application security, IT infrastructure, cyber security would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of Murex, Oracle, Swift and SharePoint would be an asset;
  • Fluency in English required, other languages would be an asset.

Contract duration: 2 to 3 years fixed term contract
