Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, is organising a selection procedure to establish a reserve list for future posts of European Border and Coast Guard Officers - Standing Corps (Advanced- Intermediate -Basic Level). The Standing Corps, which will consist of up to 10 000 operational staff by 2027, will be working along the external borders of the European Union and the Schengen Area.
The Frontex border guards will support EU and Schengen countries in tasks such as: border control at land, sea and air borders, border surveillance, collecting and sharing information on situation at EU's borders and beyond, search and rescue activities, returning people who do not have the right to stay in the EU, as well as fighting cross-border crime, including migrant smuggling, document fraud and terrorism.
Successful candidates will be deployed in the Agency's operational activities as of 1 January 2021. The officers will be trained and equipped to help ensure safe, secure and well-functioning external borders of the EU and the Schengen Area.
