The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Corporate Services Directorate, Information Management and Procurement Department at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Head of Data Governance Unit. This is a full-time position at grade 5/6.
The term of this contract will be 4 years.
Panel interviews are anticipated for beginning of February 2020.
The EIB offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of 6 years, according to business needs, with a possibility to convert to a permanent contract, subject to organisational requirements and individual performance.
Working together with business directorates (mainly Data stewards, Business Analysts but also middle management) and technology partners (IT, Data Warehousing team), the Head of Data Governance Unit (internally referred as Senior Unit Head) drives the implementation and continuous improvement of the policies, frameworks and processes & procedures that govern data management for the EIB Group.
The Head of the Data Governance Unit reports to the Head of the Corporate Information and Processes Division.
The Corporate Information and Processes Division (CIP), covers data governance, business process optimisation, and change management, serving as an intermediary between the business directorates and IT to support the EIB's digital transformation.
The Data Governance Unit functions as the EIB's Data Governance Office (DGO). The unit comprises a team of four Data Governance Officers who together lead various initiatives and working groups in order to establish and improve data governance, data management and reporting throughout the EIB.
The unit is responsible for the policies and procedures in the domain of data governance: 1) data quality management; 2) business glossary and metadata management; 3) reporting governance and end-user computing tools, 4) data modelling and master/reference data operational management.
