We're seeking an experienced recruitment specialist to lead our newly-created recruitment team as our Institute continues to grow.
In this new role you will be responsible for delivering an effective and responsive in-house recruitment service, to attract and recruit the skilled and talented researchers, bioinformaticians, computer scientists and functional specialists essential to our continuing success.
Reporting to and working closely with the Senior HR Officer, you will develop recruitment strategy, take ownership for the recruitment process, lead operations and supervise HR Recruitment Officers.
We recruit direct into all our vacancies rather than using third parties so an effective strategy is essential. You will need to draw on your previous professional experience and be innovative about sourcing as a large proportion of our recruitment is for tech roles where demand outstrips supply.
You will work closely with the External Relations/Communications team to raise the profile of EMBL-EBI as an employer locally and internationally.
As recruitment process owner you will drive improvements and lead on development and of our recently-implemented applicant tracking system.
The success of the HR recruitment team will depend on excellent teamwork with HR colleagues at EMBL-EBI and recruitment colleagues in EMBL headquarters in Heidelberg.
The role requires a limited amount of travel within Europe.
At EMBL-EBI, we help scientists realise the potential of 'big data' in biology by enabling them to exploit complex information to make discoveries that benefit mankind.
Working for EMBL-EBI gives you an opportunity to apply your skills and energy for the greater good.
As part of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), we are a non-profit, intergovernmental organisation funded by over 27 member states and two associate member states.
We are located on the Wellcome Genome Campus near Cambridge in the UK, and our 850 staff are engineers, technicians, scientists and other professionals from all over the world.
EMBL is an inclusive, equal opportunity employer offering attractive conditions and benefits appropriate to an international research organisation. The remuneration package comprises a competitive salary, a comprehensive pension scheme and health insurance, educational and other family related benefits where applicable, as well as financial support for relocation and installation.
