The Standardisation Officer will work on the construction sector related activities of Small Business Standards (SBS), the European organisation representing SMEs in the standardisation arena, as per Annex III of European Regulation 1025/2012.
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the EBC team in the secretariat, but devoting his/her full time to SBS, reporting directly to the EBC Secretary General and working in close contact with SBS & SMEunited staff dedicated to the project.
His/her tasks include managing and coordinating SBS construction experts, convening and preparing technical meetings, carrying out administrative/communication duties and representing SBS positions on construction-related standardisation issues.
The successful candidate will be a motivated, talented and very flexible professional. She/he will have a technical academic background, preferably engineering/architecture, or a policy/legal background with experience in technical issues. Experience in standardisation (e.g. in a standards-related organisation or as member of a technical committee of a standards organisation) is a strong asset.
Deep knowledge of the EU legal and standardisation framework concerning construction is required, especially of the Construction Products Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 and the European Standardisation Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English is required. Proficient knowledge of another European language is a relevant asset. The candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team and will have at least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
