APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: 16 Dec. 2020
The Human Technopole Foundation is looking for a Research Administrator for the HT Centre of Genomics – Population and Medical Genomics Programme.
The mission of the Population and Medical Genetics (PMG) programme in the Research Centre for Genomics will be to enable the generation of genomics resources, including both healthy volunteers and patients with common and rare diseases to study genetic factors contributing to human health and diseases. Strong defining components of this research programme will be the reliance on genomic technologies for large-scale explorations of human traits and diseases, the deep functional characterisation through in vivo and in vitro experiments, and the use of computational and quantitative approaches for data analysis.
Harnessing the depth of the Italian population and its biomedical variability, we will seek to understand “what are the genetic factors underpinning variation in biomedical traits in the general population”, ”through which molecular and functional mechanisms do these genetic variants exert their effect”, “which of these genes and mechanisms point to potential new therapies”. In order address these challenges, we will generate exhaustive catalogues of genetic variation in health and selected disease collections, and characterise their function, thus informing the discovery of interventions tailored to the Italian population.
In the context above outlined, successful candidate(s) will engage in the following areas:
The Research Centre Administrator, reporting directly to Nicole Soranzo, the Head of the Centre of Genomics, will provide high level scientific administrative-secretarial activities.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in large academic institutions or in internationally recognized research organizations and to candidates with background or previous experience in the biomedical sciences.
Please apply sending a CV (with the contacts of 2 referees) and a motivation letter in English only through the dedicated area below.
