Account Manager in FIPRA's Transport, Travel and Logistics (TTL) Practice

Being an Account Manager in FIPRA's TTL team will offer you the opportunity of working in a dynamic sector which is facing numerous opportunities - and challenges. The team has over 15 years of experience in advising clients on how to successfully navigate through the EU's legislative landscape, which has never before been as important as it is now.

As an Account Manager in the TTL team, you will need to fully understand and guide clients on the various policy developments that impact our wide range of TTL clients, including the European Green Deal and the Smart and Sustainable Mobility Strategy. The digital transformation is also having an impact on TTL clients, so knowledge of digital developments and the European data strategy would be a plus.

You will report to, and be guided by, the Account Director and Head of the Business Unit, while having day to day responsibilities for client work, as well as being responsible for guiding and growing the more junior team.

Role and responsibilities

  • Work across a diverse range of issues, including the Smart and Sustainable Mobility Package, which covers all modes of transport, as well as relevant elements of the European Green Deal and the European data strategy. A particular interest in maritime and road transport would be an asset, as would an understand of funding opportunities from the Recovery and Resilience Fund;
  • Play a key role in managing client relationships and delivering high quality services in-line with client needs and expectations;
  • Play a vital role in conceptualising and driving forward strategic campaigns to address pressing policy and legislative issues and deliver concrete policy change;
  • Provide clients with strategic and timely intelligence - by using the FIPRA network and your own network - as well as concrete recommendations for action;
  • Develop clear and concise policy analyses as well and precise and persuasive policy materials. Experience in contributing to consultations is a plus;
  • Contribute to new business development - including identifying opportunities, developing creative and sustainable strategies that align public and private interests and pitching to potential clients;
  • Manage the team on a day-to-day basis, providing guidance and support in order to build and develop junior team members;
  • Support and contribute to the FIPRA corporate values.

Skills and experience

  • At least 6 years' relevant experience from an EU institution, public affairs consultancy, in-house public affairs team or NGO;
  • Strong academic credentials;
  • Strong interest in and deep knowledge of EU affairs and transport and travel policies;
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills to drive client agendas and initiatives with proven proactivity, flexibility and a 'can do' attitude;
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work while multi-tasking and managing competing deadlines;
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure high level of accuracy;
  • Ability to work autonomously while also managing, supporting and developing team members;
  • Outstanding verbal communication, writing and presentation skills;
  • Adept networker with strong contacts in the EU bubble;
  • ICT and digital skills are a real bonus, especially for use in digital public affairs.
