Job Description

The European Federation of National Engineering Associations - FEANI is a federation of professional engineers that unites all the national engineering associations from 33 European countries. FEANI represents the interests of over 6 million professional engineers in Europe, while striving for a single voice for the engineering profession in Europe and wants to affirm and develop the professional identity of engineers.

Due to the expanded workload of the Secretary General, the position of Project Manager is vacant as from 1 June 2021 onwards. FEANI seeks to employ a highly motivated, dynamic and results-driven person with prior professional experience in preparing and managing EU funded projects.

The position also requires the ability to understand complex business and political issues combined with strategic thinking and highly-developed networking, association management and communications skills.

Major Tasks

The Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation, follow-up, implementation and reporting of the project and support the Secretary General with the coordination of meetings with consortium partners.

Day-to-day business includes in particular:

  • The management of the Secretariat with responsibility for meeting preparation, organization and follow-up;
  • Strategic networking at high level with European partners and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Representation of FEANI in day-to-day dealings with the network of 33 national members;
  • Participation at seminars or workshops;
  • Preparation and implementation of decisions by the Executive Board and the Secretary General;
  • Preparation and participation of/in meetings of the General Assembly and FEANI Working Groups following consultation and agreement with the Secretary General.

The requirements of the applicant

As Project Manager and assistant to the Secretary General we wish to appoint a candidate with above-average motivation and commitment, who is interested in a longer-term cooperation. We regard the ability to work individually (also home-office), in a confident and convincing manner as well as with excellent computer skills, as major prerequisites.

As an applicant you should satisfy the following:

  • Proven capacity to take ownership and demonstrate responsibility for the work done;
  • Have a relevant university master’s degree;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent written and spoken English and French (other languages are a plus); Good interpersonal skills, flexibility and reliability;
  • Some years of experience in the area of organization and external relations, and preferably in the representation of an association at national and/or EU/international level;
  • Have a deep affinity for project management, the procedures, policies, programs, procurement and grants from the European Commission;
  • Have strong social skills and be perseverant;
  • Be willing and flexible to travel throughout Europe;
  • Be willing to reside in Brussels or surroundings.

Conditions

Contract: full time, limited contract of 1 year to start with, extension possible
Date of assignment: no later than 15 June 2021
Salary: Competitive package (incl. lunch vouchers, GSM, travel indemnities and -insurance) according to experience and qualifications)
