Post based in the Netherlands (Noordwijk) with frequent travel to ESA headquarters (Paris).
The European Space Agency (ESA) is Europe’s gateway to space. Its mission is to shape the development of Europe’s space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to the citizens of Europe and the world.
The Director of Navigation, is responsible for the definition, planning and execution of the Agency’s Navigation programmes, in line with the European Strategy for Space and taking into account the worldwide environment and its main actors.
We are looking for candidates who are nationals of an ESA Member State, preferably with a technical or scientific higher education (minimum masters level), preferably in the navigation field.
The candidates should be very knowledgeable of the key stakeholders in navigation in Europe and world-wide and should have a well-established network and a deep understanding of challenges and opportunities in navigation.
Key qualities are a strategically oriented mind, a proven track record in leading change and managing teams, excellent relationship management and negotiation skills and the ability to influence high-level decisions.
An excellent knowledge of English or French is required.
