The role of Senior Consultant/Senior Research Manager will be to win and deliver research, evaluation and consultancy projects, within the Policy and Research (P&R) Business Unit at Ecorys. You will work across one or more of our markets (at EU-level and internationally) and across one or more of our policy areas.
As a Senior Consultant/Senior Research Manager, you will take responsibility for managing and delivering medium sized research and evaluation contracts and, work with Project Directors on larger-scale, longer-term research, and evaluation projects, from work winning and inception to delivering the final report and dissemination.
You will also get the opportunity to lead on providing effective project and client management, planning, and monitoring delivery to agreed timescales, ensuring quality, and liaising with contractors, partners, associates, internal and external experts as well as with Ecorys corporate services on compliance, budgeting, and invoicing.
In your role, you will also contribute to business development and work winning. You will actively pursue new business opportunities, maintain and develop new client contacts. In addition, you will start to develop one or more specific areas of business/market, winning new work and securing new opportunities.

In terms of qualifications, you should hold a First degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience (in social science, social research, communications, geography, statistics, economics, research methods, evaluation methods, or other relevant fields) and be Post-graduate, professional or vocational qualification in a relevant subject.
You must have and should be able to demonstrate significant experience in development and delivery of evaluation or research methodologies into EU policy and communications interventions, including the successful application of analytical approaches that guide monitoring, evaluation and research assignments.
You will be required to have proven ability to acquire new work and repeat business from clients including the preparation of high-quality tenders and proposals through excellent writing skills with evidence of an entrepreneurial level of commercial awareness.
As this role is hands-on, you will need to show strong evidence of effective project management, including the co-ordination of inputs under matrix management approaches, strong client communication skills, and the ability to manage complex contracts.
You should have experience of using qualitative and quantitative research in communications evaluation or monitoring, or alternatively prospective studies, audience research or impact assessments in the field of communication. More specifically, you should be comfortable leading EU-wide surveys, interview programmes, focus groups, as well as monitoring data collection and analysis. Experience in data mining, data scraping, social media and media analysis, campaign evaluation and monitoring of communications activities will be an asset.
Good proficiency of MS Office suite is expected, along with familiarity with social media channels. Use of social sciences software including NVivo, R, SPSS, or Stata is desirable.
European or international travel may be required, when permitted.
