Our Government Relations office in Brussels is looking for a Policy Officer, in order to provide support and analysis to strengthen our contribution to policy debates in Europe, Africa and Middle East and to conduct engagements with national and international stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to develop practical experience of the corporate policy environment and is drawn towards innovation and technology.

We are looking for someone autonomous, dynamic, able to provide strategic insights and ideas and who has strong interpersonal skills. Some experience in, and understanding of, the national, EU and/or international organisations, national government engagement sectors is also desirable, but not essential.

Duties

  • Gathering, analyzing and communicating intelligence on the political and institutional developments relevant to the company;
  • Building strong government stakeholder relationships in assigned countries and regions (France, Spain, ME and Africa in particular);
  • Working on business development through government channels (national and international) in areas of defense, security, space, energy, transport and others;
  • Build and maintain sound and stable relationships with key institutional stakeholders (within national governments and international organizations);
  • Keep track of relevant policy developments in EMEA, particularly in the area of infrastructure developments, funding, security, foreign affairs and development assistance policy and projects;
  • Participate and represent in meetings and events relevant for the business;
  • Preparing draft reports, studies and meeting notes;
  • Providing support to the team by monitoring news, events, newsletters etc.

Overall, your job will be to keep track and understand policy developments/initiatives/legislations that could impact our businesses and operations and work on building business development pipeline.

Ideal Profile

  • Master’s degree (Economics, Science, Law, Communications, European or International Affairs, Political Science, Engineering);
  • Good understanding of policy-making at national level, EU and international institutions;
  • Strong organizational skills and a good abilities for multitasking;
  • Strong human and interpersonal skills;
  • A strong interest for technology and innovation, and a good understanding of technical questions;
  • Positive attitude as a flexible team player;
  • Work experience with EU institutions, national or international organizations or business would be a strong plus;
  • Excellent written and verbal proficiency in French and English, mastery of another EU language is a plus.
