Objective

  • Support business projects for the internationalization of Catalan companies, improve trade between Catalan, Belgian and Luxembourg (BELUX) companies.

Responsibilities and tasks

Under the supervision of the Director of the Catalonia Trade and Investment Office in Brussels the applicant must provide support in the following tasks:

  • Identify, find and analyze international business opportunities for Catalan companies;
  • Preparation of country's technological/sector reports;
  • Organization of company missions between Catalonia and BELUX with the goal of supporting bilateral business cooperation agreements;
  • Participation in third parties’ events, workshops and congresses to find new potential contacts and learn about new business trends;
  • Maintain a network of contacts with relevant decision makers, companies, entrepreneurs, experts and investors in BELUX. Ability to open doors, understand business needs, identify opportunities for collaboration and attract partners for delivery;
  • Facilitate introductions and follow up to convert leads and opportunities into concrete business;
  • Execution and monitoring of consulting individual projects.

Essential requirements, skills and experience

  • BA, preferably in business/economic development fields with demonstrated technical capabilities and a clear industry-background;
  • Minimum of 2-year of experience working in business development, consulting, project management, or similar roles;
  • Full proficiency in Dutch and French. Excellent written and oral communication level in English. Intermediate written and oral communication level in Spanish and or Catalan will be an asset;
  • An acquaintance with the business and economical landscape in BELUX countries as well as Catalonia;
  • International experience from living/working/studying overseas or working in foreign relations;
  • Open and clear communicator with strong presentation skills (oral and written);
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record of success and demonstrated ability to deliver results;
  • Excellent networking skills including across cultures;
  • Enthusiasm to work as part of an agile, ambitious and multicultural team;
  • Ability to work creatively and strategically. Able to work independently whilst being high contributor in a team environment.

Desirable requirements, skills and experience

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, data bases search and social media management;
  • Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Contract under Belgian Law;
