Job description:

Recovery, Resolution and Deposit Insurance (main focus)

  • Monitoring, analysing and informing members regarding bank crisis management and deposit insurance subjects on the basis of the developments at European and international levels;
  • Key dossiers of which the Adviser will be in charge include: BRRD, SRMR, DGSD and EDIS; Relevant topics include, for example, DGS preventive and alternative measures, the public interest assessment (PIA), resolution planning, resolution strategy, funding sources in insolvency/resolution, MREL, TLAC, the Single Resolution Fund (SRF), the creditor hierarchy in insolvency and deposit protection;
  • Additionally, stress testing, including both the prudential dimension and the climate dimension is a core part of the portfolio;
  • Additional/Other policy areas may be assigned as needed;
  • Being in charge of the WSBI-ESBG Crisis Management and Deposit Insurance Taskforce (TF CMDI): preparation of meetings, drafting of background documents, contributing to the meeting by reporting on latest developments for each topic at EU and international level, drafting a summary of the meeting and ensuring that agreed action points are executed;
  • Providing support to the WSBI-ESBG Prudential and Supervision Committee (PSC) on CMDI related topics;
  • Preparing common positions gathering the views of WSBI-ESBG members and representing the interests of members in the abovementioned areas;
  • Liaising with EU and international authorities (e.g. Single Resolution Board, European Commission, European Parliament, European Banking Authority and the Financial Stability Board) as well as other stakeholders;
  • Assuming the role of Secretariat of the EBIC Plenary (cooperation platform of the various European banking associations) as of 2023.

Statistics

  • Collecting, analysing and evaluating statistical data related to the financial sector;
  • Provide Members with selected, useful statistics.

Profile:

  • Completed university degree, ideally in Finance, Economics, Law or Political Sciences;
  • Some years of experience in prudential policy and supervision with an exposure, ideally, to bank recovery, resolution and deposit insurance topics;
  • Ideally, experience in advocacy work;
  • Good political, strategic and technical understanding of the abovementioned topics;
  • Profound understanding of the EU law-making environment and decision-making process;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Ability to comply with tight deadlines and to deal with several files in parallel;
  • Excellent command in English, other EU languages are an asset;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and interpret retail banking sector data;
  • Advanced level in MS Excel – Knowledge of MS Power BI is a plus.​
