Hume Brophy is recruiting a junior consultant in its Brussels team to support its growing portfolio of agri-food clients. This will be an excellent opportunity for a motivated young professional to grow a career in public affairs and communications and gain exposure to topics such as sustainability, deforestation, animal welfare and market access for non-EU agri products.

Core responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of advocacy campaigns including development of content and organisation of meetings with decision-makers;
- Monitor, analyse, summarise and report on relevant EU policies;
- Prepare internal documents, including briefing notes, position papers, articles and PowerPoint presentations;
- Support the development of internal and external communications, including articles, newsletters, publications for the website and social media accounts of the organisation;
- Support new business development activities, including contributing to proposal-writing and events;
- Develop a network of contacts.
Requirements for this role
- 1-3 years of work experience at EU level, ideally in an EU Institution, trade association, agency or in-house role;
- Strong interest in agriculture, food, environment or trade in particular;
- Flexibility, with strong organisational and coordination skills, including time management, multi-tasking and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Team player with a positive attitude who communicates well;
- Experience with social media in a professional context an advantage;
- Excellent written and spoken English; other languages a definite bonus.
