POLITICO is looking for an entrepreneurial, results-oriented Senior Partnerships Manager to join our dynamic and growing Media Solutions Sales team. POLITICO is a pioneering and growing media company that covers the politics, policy and personalities of the European Union.

Role & Responsibilities

The Senior Partnerships Manager position is a sales position with the primary objective to oversee and grow current and existing relationships within the EU market.

We seek an experienced, talented and smart candidate who works proactively to achieve business objectives while maintaining a culture of collaboration, development and achievement.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of account handling, confident communicator both internally and externally to clients and agencies, and have a thorough understanding of public affairs and corporate communications. A major part of the role will be challenging the client to think in new ways in terms of delivering business needs and answering briefs with a focus on all aspects of media. This role is a great opportunity for an individual looking to grow and establish strong client relationships and campaign management skills.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Manage clients on a day-to-day basis, working closely to understand their business challenges;
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of client's business and lead strategic advice across teams;
  • Owns the response to client briefs – ensuring that the delivered output is best in class and addressing client’s targets and objectives, demonstrating a deep understanding of media channels;
  • Develop strong relationships with agency, client and media owner contacts;
  • Keep updated on competitive trends within assigned industries;
  • Scan the market and develop strategies to acquire new accounts;
  • Drive innovation and fresh thinking;
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to achieve sales results;
  • Conceptualize, prepare, and deliver sales presentations;
  • Embody the successful brand presence of POLITICO in the market, represent POLITICO at member briefings, network events and industry conferences;
  • Bring energy and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.


Required qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of professional experience;
  • Experience in consultative selling and/or campaign management with the ability to craft insightful solutions;
  • An in depth understanding of all media channels as well as a working knowledge of client marketing and advertising;
  • Experience in meeting or exceeding high sales targets and managing client relationships;
  • Inspiring presentation skills and pitches;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strong client services ethic;
  • Excellent written communication skills;
  • Ability to prioritize and recognize business critical matters while remaining adaptable;
  • A university degree is required;
  • Fluent English, written and spoken; any other European language an asset.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint to be used in presentations;
  • Exposure to Salesforce or other CRM tools;
  • Interest in and understanding of current European political and policy issues;
  • Global brand experience a plus;
  • Outgoing nature and a can-do attitude;
  • An organized operator who thrives under the demands of clients;
  • Gravitas and confidence, someone who can comfortably communicate with all levels of people within a business;
  • Sense of humor.

This is a full-time, office-based position located in Brussels or Berlin and involves some travel across Europe.
