POLITICO Live – the live extension of POLITICO’s journalism – is looking for its Summits Portfolio Manager to oversee the strategy, growth, and management of our annual flagship events. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team, on a fast-growing and strategic portfolio.

This is a full-time position located in Brussels, Belgium, and involves some travel around mainland Europe.

What You'll Do

Portfolio strategy and growth

  • Ensure POLITICO summits retain their full relevance and implement meaningful innovations in terms of formats, topics, location, etc, to make sure they remain cutting edge and in line with POLITICO’s strategy;
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to maximize reach, revenue opportunities and growth;
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments (editorial, sales, product) to maximize summits’ impact;
  • Maintain accurate understanding of competitive business and their rival events.

Editorial and commercial oversight

  • Work closely with POLITICO Live’s Events Editor to ensure events are newsworthy and follow editorial guidelines - speakers + themes;
  • Build strategic relations inside and outside the organization and maintain accurate knowledge and understanding of ongoing industry and policy developments;
  • Review summits programs and unique selling points, which includes a summit description, session topics and priority speakers to be invited, to ensure it is aligned with newsroom and market needs;
  • Define the commercial strategy of each summit and review Business Plans ahead presentation to the sales team;
  • Manage strategic client relationships and act as a point of contact, making sure summits meet and exceed their expectations.

Team coordination and management

  • Manage Summits Associates/Managers and ensure that summits programs are produced/signed off to deadline and are briefed to marketing and sales team to deadline;
  • Work with the logistics team and oversee the overall delivery of high-quality summits, in line with POLITICO Live standards;
  • Take initiative to solve problems in all aspects of the summits’ production process;
  • Ensure summits associates/managers’ well being and team’s sustainable workflow as well as enable an environment for growth.

What You'll Need

  • 4-6 years of professional experience, proven track record in events/project management;
  • Great organizational and prioritization skills;
  • Business acumen combined with knowledge of digital journalism and the political sphere;
  • Ability to liaise with and coordinate a high number of stakeholders;
  • Self-motivation and determination with a strong sense of personal initiative.
