Who you are
The App Association is seeking an energetic membership coordinator that is curious about and interested in learning more about the start-up ecosystem, app economy, and how they intersect with tech policy. The ideal candidate is interested in researching and meeting small companies, start-ups, and entrepreneurs around European Union (EU), managing databases, collaborating with the European team to determine gaps in our membership and supporting the day-to-day functions of membership programs and initiatives including content. With the support of the team, you will assist in communicating with App Association’s EU members about our policy initiatives and, identify and activate appropriate members on key policy issues including intellectual property, issues related to intellectual property, standards, or platforms. This position reports to the director of European operations and will work in close collaboration with the U.S. and UK membership teams to find appropriate companies for special projects and events. Currently, the position is based in Brussels, partially remote.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Researching and identifying gaps in our membership;
- Recruiting new members;
- Following and identifying social media trends related to tech and start-ups;
- Database management;
- Support in educating members on tech policy and drafting related collateral;
- Learning about tech policy, our membership, and the app economy;
- Assist with event planning;
- Assist with content creation.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years work experience;
- Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment;
- Strong English verbal and written communications skills with attention to detail. Any additional languages are an asset;
- Experience with research and identifying search parameters;
- Experience using social media;
- An interest in tech policy and curiosity about tech and the small businesses that drive the app economy;
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently from home but also collaborate with staff at various levels.
