Carbon Gap is a climate not-for-profit focused on eliminating the carbon dioxide that’s already heating up the planet. We exist to drive essential climate action by making Europe a leader in carbon removal, working with governments, scientists, NGOs, and businesses to unlock support for the full spectrum of carbon removal methods, storing carbon safely in trees, soils, oceans, rocks, and the built environment.

This role is for someone with interest and experience (including academic experience) in either communications or policy work, or both.
On the policy side, successful candidates will assist in the implementation of our policy, communication, and research workstreams. This includes supporting research and policy analysis, assisting in preparing public facing documents and reports, providing help with communication and events, and contributing to active engagements with EU policymakers, as well as related operational work. There will also be opportunities to publish work in the form of policy briefs and blog posts.
On the communications side, the successful candidate will assist in the build-out of our Brussels communication work, helping to establish Carbon Gap’s presence in EU affairs with media, events, and high-quality carbon removal content.
Candidates should also expect to support operational and administrative responsibilities.
This is an ideal opportunity for those looking to build a career in communications or policy. The role is open to candidates with experience and/or who have completed academic work in the fields of communications, journalism, media, public policy, political science, business, or related fields. Candidates with self-taught communications skills are also welcome! We have a strong preference for those who have taken environmental/climate policy classes or have been engaged in relevant extracurriculars and work experience.
