The Operations and Capital Projects Team oversees capital investment programmes, operational change projects and facilities management at EMBL-EBI. The team works closely with external and internal operational teams to manage large capital investment projects and programmes and supports EMBL leadership by contributing to consultations, external reviews and supporting impact reporting.
EMBL-EBI has been awarded £45m via UKRI's Strategic Priorities Fund to support the continued expansion of its range of open biological data resources until 2024 (phase 1). The Data Infrastructure programme established with the investment, oversees the expansion of data centre capacity, storage, compute and networking and the establishment of new services. Phase 1 of the programme includes three major projects: BioData e-infrastructure; establishment of a BioImage Archive and the construction of a new office building in the Wellcome Genome Campus to accommodate the growing expertise.
The Project Support Officer will provide vital support to the Data Infrastructure programme manager/director. Your role will include all aspects of project support. This highly-organised, dynamic team member may also be involved on a broad spectrum of project activities within the Operations and Capital Projects Team.
The post holder will directly report to the Programme Manager, and play an important role in project planning, monitoring project schedules, preparing project progress reports, organising meetings and supporting risk and issue management. This will require working closely with senior administration management and liaising with key project stakeholders.
