The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities, a network of 21 of Europe’s leading universities across 16 countries, is looking to fill a position of a Communications Officer with 1-3 years of relevant experience. The postholder will join The Guild, created in 2016, at an exciting time when the network is seeking to strengthen its voice further externally (amongst policy-makers and a wider public), and internally among members through a new communications strategy. Reporting to the Secretary-General, the Communications Officer (CO) will lead on maintaining and enhancing a strong public profile for The Guild. The CO will work with the entire team to ensure that the reach of The Guild’s communications is maximized – among policy-makers, in social media, and in the key media outlets relevant to the sector. In conjunction with colleagues from our universities’ communications teams, the CO will develop an effective communication strategy, and further strengthen the Guild’s brand identity in all forms. The CO will also lead on the development of effective communications with members, building excellent relationships with their Press and PR offices. The CO will develop a sophisticated understanding of media stakeholders at the national and regional levels, in order to ensure the Guild enhances the visibility of its members.
