Objective of the traineeship
The objective of the traineeship is to support EIB’s financial sector lending activities by providing timely and accurate counterpart credit and market analysis in the context of new and existing operations with financial intermediaries across International Partners’ core markets.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Support counterpart credit risk analysis;
- Assist financial sector analysis;
- Support review of regulatory regimes and supervisory standards;
- Assist analysis of (financial) market and sector trends;
- Perform peer group analysis;
- Assist in the preparation of loan appraisal documentation;
- Provide ad-hoc support in preparation of conferences, missions, and meetings.
Academic qualifications and professional skills
- Final year of studies or University degree of a MENA/ACP partner country, preferably in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering or in a related field;
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Excel and Power Point);
- A first experience in (investment) banking, central banking, or management consulting would be considered a distinct advantage;
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
- Knowledge of French and/or Spanish would be considered an asset.
