Researcher - EU Budget and EU Funding Instruments

CEPS is currently seeking an expert in policy evaluation methodologies applied to EU public finances and related socio-economic policies.
Main tasks
You will become part of the Economic Policy Unit and you will:
- Contribute to research projects related to the EU budget, the Recovery and Resilience Facility, and other EU funding instrument as well as the EU’s economic governance;
- Assist in acquiring new research projects;
- Participate in international research teams that carry out projects for the European Commission and other funding organisations;
- Contribute to the writing of reports, studies, academic papers and policy pieces;
- Deliver presentations in your area(s) of expertise at project meetings and external events.
Your background and qualifications
- You hold a Master’s degree in economics or a related field, with a minimum of three years of professional experience in applied relevant work;
- A PhD degree on related fields of research would be an asset;
- You have a proven record of writing and presentation skills, and can critically read and comment on academic and policy publications in the relevant fields;
- You have experience in writing proposals for funding from European institutions, foundations and other donors;
- Knowledge of the European Commission Better Regulation Guidelines and Toolbox (impact assessments, policy evaluations, cost-benefit analysis etc.) is a plus;
- Experience in conducting quantitative analysis, including econometric analysis, is a plus;
- Experience in coordinating externally funded research projects with an international team is a plus;
- You have an excellent command of English, both orally and in writing; knowledge of other EU official languages is a plus;
- You are willing to contribute to events hosted by CEPS and its partners.
