The European Gravitational Observatory is a French-Italian consortium founded by INFN and CNRS to foster European collaboration in gravitational wave research and it hosts and operates the Gravitational-Wave detector Virgo (http://www.virgo-gw.eu/), a 3km-long laser interferometer (ITF). Virgo and the two LIGO ITFs in the US are the largest and most sensitive gravitational-wave detecting instruments in the world. The Virgo experiment involves the collaboration of around 850 members, representing 42 institutions in 16 different countries. The Administration has two different Departments, Area 1 and 2. Area 1 contains and coordinates the following offices: Human Resources, Finance and EU Accountability, Outreach&Communication and User Office. Area 2 contains and coordinates the following offices: Tenders and Procurement, General and legal Affairs, EU projects and External Relations. The Head of Area 1 has also the role of “responsabile della prevenzione della corruzione e della trasparenza (RPCT)”. The position is opened for the Head of Department AD1. The successful candidate can also take the responsibilities of Head of the Departments AD2 ad interim. According to the EGO statute the Director can appoint an EGO Administrative Deputy Director.

The EGO Consortium is opening a position for the search for a candidate who will work as The Head of Department AD1 (see Work Context for the definition of AD1). The successful candidate can also take the responsibilities of Head of the Departments AD2 ad interim. According to the EGO statute the Director can appoint an EGO Administrative Depuy Director. As a member of the EGO Directorate, she/he contributes to the development of the overall policy and strategic planning. She/He will be responsible for the fields of financial planning and accounting, treasury, human resources.

Only candidates who meet the above essential required qualifications and experience are admitted to the selection procedure. The evaluation of the candidates admitted to the procedure is assigned to a Selection Board appointed by the Director of EGO. The Selection Board will determine the evaluation criteria in the first meeting. The first phase of the selection will be based on a review of the Application Forms and other documents received in line with the above-mentioned essential and desired requirements. Only candidates who have obtained the minimum score established by the Selection Board in the first meeting will be able to access to the second phase of the selection, which will consist of an interview. During the interview the Selection Board will verify the knowledge of English and Italian languages and the knowledge of software for the management of administration and budget

Desired level of education: Master’s Degree in Economic and Business or Law
