EFAA for SMEs is looking for a self-employed advisor/consultant with a experience in Audit and Assurance areas and policy development at EU and International level, extensive knowledges of ISAs and IESBA Code of Ethics and corporate financial and ESG reporting who is a quick learner, able to understand technical matters and eager to contribute to EFAA’s mission and become a fully-integrated member of the team.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Support the designated Chair of the Assurance Expert Group in drafting the agenda and identifying relevant topics; the Assurance Expert Group meets about 4 times per year;
• Monitor Audit and Assurance developments at EU level as well as in IAASB, IESBA, ISSB, the IFRS Foundation. At EU level in particular, EFRAG standard setting related to CSRD, EU Audit Policies, CEAOB positions;
• Participate in technical meetings with regulators and standard setters when required;
• Develop draft positions or draft replies to consultations to be finalised with the support of the Assurance Expert Group members, i.e. at least 6 positions or draft replies a year;
• Draft guidance on developments in Audit and Assurance related areas impacting SMPs and how SMPs can best prepare for these developments (2 guides or articles per year).

Expected Time Commitment and Duration:

The expert is expected to independently allocate his/her time for the projects throughout the week. We estimate that the time necessary to provide the listed services correspond approximately to one day per week, distributed flexibly over the week. Additionally, we estimate no more than 3 or 4 meetings per months, i.e. 2 days/month or 4 half-days/month.
