European Regions Airline Association (ERA) is looking for a Communications Officer to join its team based in Brussels, Belgium.
About the role
The European Regions Airline Association (ERA) is the trade association representing a diverse membership of more than 50 European regional airlines and 150 aviation sector partners. Regional connectivity is at the core of our mission, with our member airlines playing a vital role in linking Europe’s regions and advancing safety, operational performance, and air traffic management. Through our events, working groups and forums, we provide platforms for collaboration, knowledge exchange and industry-wide dialogue.
As Communications Officer, you’ll support activity across digital content, policy communications and event-related messaging. You’ll manage LinkedIn, create visuals and copy that bring policy work to life, and keep website content up to date. You’ll also support press materials, translating complex policy topics into clear, accessible communications. Alongside this, you’ll help ensure events are effectively promoted and that messaging remains consistent across all channels.
What you’ll be doing
Digital & Content Creation
- Managing and monitoring ERA’s social media channels (mainly LinkedIn);
- Creating engaging content for policy communication campaigns, including visuals, infographics, and short-form copy;
- Leading and producing the ERA LinkedIn newsletter;
- Designing visual assets in Canva in line with ERA’s brand identity;
- Uploading website content and documents using WordPress.
Policy & Media Communications
- Support drafting policy-related press releases, statements, and briefings;
- Assisting in transforming complex policy topics into compelling, accessible communication materials for various audiences;
- Coordinating with the policy team to ensure timely dissemination of messages relevant to EU aviation and regional connectivity.
Events Communication
- Supporting event-related communications, including announcements, promotional materials, speaker highlights, and event coverage;
- Assisting with communications for working groups;
- Helping maintain consistent messaging across all channels and touchpoints.

Your skills and qualities
Essential
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in communications; internships (6 months–1 year) can count toward total experience;
- Demonstrated passion for crafting compelling communication and policy campaigns;
- Strong interest in aviation and EU policy;
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with the ability to tailor tone and complexity to different audiences;
- Technical proficiency with Canva and WordPress;
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines;
- Creativity, attention to detail, and an eye for clean, impactful visual communication;
- Legal right to work in Belgium.
Desirable
- Experience working in EU-focused organisation, trade association, or aviation-related environment;
- Knowledge of additional European languages;
- Familiarity with basic analytics tools for social media and websites;
- Understanding of media relations and newsletter metrics.
