To continue communicating animal welfare values ​​and goals effectively and professionally, our policy team is expanding with the addition of a Political EU Communications Officer (m/f/d).

This permanent, full-time position is based in the Federation's office in Brussels.

Your tasks

  • Representing the association towards the bodies of the European Union, specifically on the following topics:
    • Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and EU budget;
    • Trade and international trade agreements;
    • Animal welfare, species conservation, and sustainability at the UN level.
  • Developing and maintaining the animal welfare network at the EU level;
  • Close cooperation with the European umbrella organization "Eurogroup for Animals" and the international umbrella organization "World Federation for Animals";
  • Reporting to the Berlin office.

Your profile

  • Completed degree in political science, European studies, or a comparable university degree;
  • Several years of professional experience in EU institutions or an internationally active organization;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of political decision-making processes inside EU and international Organisations;
  • Strong analytical, political-strategic and communication skills;
  • Fluent in written and spoken German;
  • Unrestricted willingness to travel;
  • Strong interest in animal welfare.
