Job Description
Would you like to join a dynamic, international team and represent the interests of Italian SMEs at EU level? Confartigianato Imprese is seeking a Policy Advisor for its Brussels office.
The selected candidate will monitor and assess EU policy initiatives in key sectors (including Textiles, Food, Transport and Construction), support the definition of policy priorities with our Rome headquarters, draft position papers, and represent Italian SMEs in meetings with European institutions and stakeholders. The role also involves contributing to communication activities and working closely with European partners.
We are looking for an Italian native speaker, fluent in English (additional EU languages are an asset), with a background in legal and/or economic studies. The ideal candidate is well organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a small, international team.
Overview of Tasks
- Monitor EU policy initiatives and develop impact assessments across key sectoral policies;
- Draft position papers and support the planning of advocacy activities;
- Liaise with EU institutions, business organisations and international stakeholders;
- Represent Confartigianato Imprese in EU-level meetings and committees;
- Coordinate with national and EU colleagues on european initiatives, collecting and aligning their input;
- Provide strategical analysis and advice on relevant EU policies and implementation;
- Ensure follow-up on meetings, actions and agreed positions.
Essential skills & competences
The ideal candidate has experience with the EU decision-making process and demonstrates the following qualifications:
- University degree in Law, Economics, Political Science or a related field;
- At least 2 years of professional experience in EU policies (experience in Textiles, Food, Transport, Construction sector is an asset);
- Solid understanding of EU institutions and policy-making processes;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal);
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational abilities;
- Confident speaker with diplomatic and negotiation skills;
- Ability to coordinate with national experts and EU sectoral associations;
- High attention to detail and accuracy;
- Proactive team player, able to work in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent IT skills, including good knowledge of MS Office;
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other European languages is an asset.
