Overview

The Deputy Head of Projects supports the Head of Projects in overseeing the strategic and operational delivery of EU-funded projects at All Digital. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality project implementation, strong coordination across teams and partners, effective financial monitoring and reporting, and maximising project impact in line with All Digital’s mission of digital inclusion across Europe.

Your Role

As a Deputy Head of Projects, you will:

  • Support strategic project delivery: Assist the Head of Projects in coordinating and monitoring multiple EU-funded projects, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, funding requirements, and agreed deliverables;
  • Lead on financial monitoring and reporting: Oversee project budget tracking, expenditure monitoring, and contribute to accurate financial and narrative reporting. Ensure compliance with EU funding rules and internal financial procedures;
  • Support and guide the project team: Support the Head of Projects in providing guidance and motivation to team members, promoting autonomy while maintaining close oversight;
  • Collaborate across the organisation: Coordinate with internal departments to align project efforts with strategic organisational priorities and share best practices;
  • Represent All Digital externally: Represent or deputise for the Head of Projects at meetings, events, and conferences, including occasional travel and engagements outside regular working hours.

Candidate Profile

We’re looking for someone who: 

  • Has a strong background in finance and project management: You have experience with EU-funded projects and are confident in budget planning, financial monitoring, and donor reporting. A degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is essential;
  • Thinks strategically and operationally: You can balance high-level oversight with hands-on support, ensuring projects stay on track both financially and operationally;
  • Has excellent organisational skills: You are comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Is a supportive leader and team player: You enjoy guiding others, fostering collaboration, and working effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments;
  • Communicates confidently in English: You have excellent written and oral communication skills; additional European languages are an asset;
  • Is confident with digital tools: You are comfortable working with Excel and other reporting and project management tools; experience with financial systems and collaboration platforms is a plus;
  • Is confident with public speaking: You are comfortable speaking at project events, presenting results, representing All Digital at policy and stakeholder events, and contributing as a speaker in webinars and in person or online conferences;
  • Has flexibility to travel: Ability to travel for work as needed, including meetings, conferences, and project events across Europe.
