SIOPE, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology, is seeking a highly qualified and committed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organisation and support its mission to improve the lives of children and adolescents with cancer across Europe.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will assume full responsibility for the operational, financial, and legal management of the organisation. The CEO will provide strategic leadership, ensure effective governance, and oversee the implementation of SIOPE’s strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overall management of SIOPE’s operations, finances, and legal obligations;
- Strategic planning and execution in close collaboration with the Board;
- Leadership and coordination of staff, projects, and external partners;
- Representation of SIOPE towards European institutions, stakeholders, and members;
- Ensuring compliance with Belgian ASBL regulations and relevant EU frameworks.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in senior management, preferably within a non-profit, healthcare, or international organisation;
- Demonstrated ability to assume full operational, financial, and legal responsibility for an organisation;
- Strong experience in fundraising, including grant acquisition and donor relations;
- Solid background in project management, including multi-stakeholder and international projects;
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills;
- Strong understanding of governance and accountability in an ASBL or similar structure.
