YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE
We are looking for a highly-organised, collaborative and reliable colleague with professional drive and a strong sense of responsibility. You will manage European-funded projects and internal projects of the association alike, with a hands-on spirit and applying your knowledge on sustainability and circularity. You will contribute to making an impact and employ your skills to support the green transition. You will act as a link for A.SPIRE projects and innovation areas:
- Management and coordination of EU funded projects: ensuring the smooth running of EU-funded projects. Management and implementation of the actions and deliverables under A.SPIRE responsibility as a partner of the EU-funded projects assigned to you, under thematics such as sustainability, circularity and Industry 5.0;
- Internal projects & Members’ engagement: coordinate internal projects or actions of our association aimed at increasing membership value and industry engagement, and contributing to the area of innovation;
- Programming and Innovation: support the coordination of our members’ working groups assigned to you, fostering effective communication and a supportive environment for collaboration among our members. Your work will contribute to the development of our R&I roadmap, programming activities and events.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION OF THE EU-FUNDED PROJECTS:
- Coordinate with the projects team for adequate retro planning and timely delivery of the projects’ activities;
- Ensure quality and efficient fulfilment of rounded and complete tasks in the EU-funded projects under your assignment as defined in the tasks and work packages;
- Lead the content development and strategic direction of projects, which are co-coordinated by A.SPIRE, ensuring value for members and coherence of actions with the goals of Processes4Planet Partnership;
- Contribute to identifying funding opportunities and to the definition of A.SPIRE’s role in new project proposals, providing the required input linked to the A.SPIRE’s participation.
INTERNAL PROJECTS AND MEMBERS’ ENGAGEMENT:
- Coordinate and implement internal projects of our association aimed at increasing membership value and industry engagement;
- Support to organise A.SPIRE events, including projects’ days;
- Contribute to supporting our members to increase their access to European funding for innovation;
- Membership development to attract and retain members.
PROGRAMMING AND INNOVATION:
- Monitor relevant European policies that affect the R&I funding landscape in Europe, contribute to policy documents and position papers;
- Support our Advisory System bodies, ensure that relevant information from projects is supplied to advisory and working groups;
- Oversee and connect projects contributing to the A.SPIRE innovation areas, extract relevant information that can benefit A.SPIRE members or our stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- University degree in environmental science, sustainability, political science, project management, international relations or related field;
- At least 3 years’ experience in EU funds and innovation projects supported by Horizon programme, having been directly responsible for diverse parts of the project management (e.g. proposals preparation, work packages implementation, reporting);
- Understanding of sustainability, circular economy and Industry 5.0 principles, preferably in the context of process industry sectors.

LANGUAGES, COMMUNICATION AND TOOLS
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written);
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Ability to create impactful presentations with PowerPoint or other tools;
- Good knowledge of SharePoint or other collaborative tools and of project management tools;
- Knowledge of AI tools applied to work (e.g. Copilot) is an asset.
PRACTICALITIES
- You must have the right to work in Belgium;
- You will be joining a small team. A.SPIRE can reorganise the tasks assigned depending on the evolution of the team composition;
