The successful candidate will be a self-starter, eager to take responsibility over project and results, proactive, team-player and passionate about project management and EU affairs. A demonstrable track-record of previous experience in EU advocacy, EU project writing and management is required.

Role and responsibilities:

• Direct work with Eu institutions and EU representatives;
• Executing YPA’s responsibilities within EU funded projects;
• Contributing to the definition of YPA work program for educational projects;
• Coordinating the implementation of project activities;
• Facilitating educational activities and moderating conferences and workshops;
• Contributing to the mapping of funding opportunities and drafting EU project proposals;
• Representing YPA at project meetings and events on EU education policy;
• Managing a small team of junior project managers.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience with EU-funded projects, ideally related to education;
• Entrepreneurial mindset;
• Proven ability to manage and implement various project tasks, oversee and coordinate partners’ contributions in different working packages;
• Fluency in English, including excellent drafting skills. French is a plus;
• Good understanding of the EU ecosystem;
• Good understanding of non-formal education and EU education policies;
• Strong organizational skills and good time management;
• Legally eligible to work in Belgium.

Desirable skills:

• Excellent communication skills with and special emphasis on public speaking;
• Capacity to learn by doing.
