Europe Policy Lead

EnergyTag

Brussels, Belgium

About

The imperative to accelerate clean power for a more secure, competitive Europe could not be more urgent. EnergyTag is seeking a Europe Policy Lead to drive our strategic expansion in Brussels. This is a high-impact role for an experienced policy expert to lead our European operations and spearhead a campaign to deliver a new support mechanism for clean, firm, round-the-clock power. You will play a key role in EnergyTag’s engagement with the EU, advocating for the market reforms and mechanisms needed to build an electrified, autonomous European economy.

Policy & Advocacy

  • Lead policy work on electricity markets, state aid, renewables and carbon accounting;
  • Anticipate EU energy trends and regulations;
  • Be the main contact for European institutions;
  • Promote the narrative that a renewable and clean flexibility backbone is vital for Europe’s industrial competitiveness and energy security.

Campaign Leadership

  • Lead a high-priority campaign for a new EU-wide Clean Firming support mechanism;
  • Manage a landmark 2026 economic study to build evidence for the benefits of round-the-clock clean power for industrial competitiveness;
  • Organize high-impact advocacy events, including technical roundtables and briefings with European industrial champions.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and manage a multi-sectoral coalition of industrial consumers, clean energy suppliers, and NGOs to align industry demand with policy goals;
  • Represent EnergyTag in key trade associations and policy forums;
  • Execute a “Member State Roadshow” to build support for EU-wide mechanisms across key national capitals.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • Passion for the mission: A firm belief that round-the-clock clean power is crucial for Europe’s future;
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years, but we value high-impact work above all) in energy policy, renewables procurement, or government relations;
  • Strategic foresight to anticipate market trends and position EnergyTag;
  • Knowledge and interest in electricity markets, including PPAs, CfDs, and flexibility technologies (storage, demand response);
  • Proven Brussels network and track record of influencing major EU legislation;
  • Startup mindset: independent, yet actively engaged with a remote, mission-driven team;
  • Exceptional communication skills: The ability to translate complex market mechanisms into compelling political narratives for senior decision-makers.
