The Communications and Marketing Lead will report directly to the Learner Acquisition Manager within the Professional Education Team working, closely and collaboratively with the Junior Communications and Marketing Officer as well as external cross-KIC Managers.

While your primary mandate and core focus will be acting as the communications and marketing lead for the EntrEduSkills Cluster (specifically the EIT STEM and EIT Campus initiatives), in addition, you will support UMX’s marketing and communications activities.

This is a high-impact, visible role responsible for strengthening the profile and reach of EIT Urban Mobility and cross-KIC initiatives across Europe. You will drive learner acquisition and course enrolments, support ecosystem growth, and ensure all communications and marketing activities meet EIT and European Commission reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Campaign Design & Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of integrated communication and marketing strategies for EIT STEM and EIT Campus. Deliver a consistent multi-channel approach across all marketing and communications activities, including organic and paid media, social media, PR, events, email marketing, content marketing and SEO. Drive community growth and engagement while maintaining full alignment with overarching policy and strategic objectives:
    • For EIT STEM, drive high political visibility and scale talent development through stakeholder engagement, integrating the diverse needs and contributions of education providers, enterprises, institutional partners, final users (learners), and the EIT/European Commission;
    • For EIT Campus, ensure growth, engagement, and course uptake across the ecosystem, target B2C learners, potential B2B and B2G partners, the wider KIC network, and the EIT/European Commission;
    • For UMX, support the Learner Acquisition manager in delivering marketing activities that enhance brand awareness, drive learner acquisition and increase course enrolments.
  • Agency Management & Internal Coordination: Lead and manage external marketing agencies in delivering high-performing campaigns, content development and SEO optimisation in accordance with contractual requirements, budgets, timelines and organisation KPIs. Liaise with EIT Urban Mobility’s corporate functions (Legal, IT, Finance, PMO) to ensure the compliant setup, deployment, and management of agency contracts and organisational processes;
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Ecosystem Alignment: Act as the bridge between EIT Comms, the EntrEduSkills Marketing teams, EIT Urban Mobility Central Comms and wider KIC stakeholders. Ensure the positioning and active participation of our initiatives in joint communication actions and high-profile events (e.g., EIT Education and Skills Days, Women in Tech Summit, Slush, etc.). Ensure all visual and communication assets strictly align with EIT Community and EC brand requirements;
  • Performance Monitoring & EU Reporting: In coordination with the Work Package Leads, support the monitoring and reporting of assigned tasks. Evaluate dissemination operations and marketing campaign performance against defined KPIs, tracking metrics monthly to inform audience targeting and media investment decisions. Coordinate, develop, and ensure the timely submission and quality assurance of all project deliverables, outputs, and annual accountability reports, managing review processes across the work packages.

What you will bring along the way:

Must-haves

  • 5+ years working experience(s) in managing EU multi-stakeholder funding projects, preferably within the Horizon Europe framework;
  • 5+ years working experience in leading strategic communications, digital marketing, stakeholder engagement and campaign management, at a European level, preferably within the education, technology, or public sectors;
  • Proven experience in managing external marketing and communication agencies and delivering complex, multi-channel digital campaigns (social, paid and organic), PR, email marketing, content marketing and SEO;
  • Demonstrable experience developing and delivering communications and dissemination strategies for EU-funded programmes, engaging diverse stakeholder groups across multiple European countries;
  • Proven track record of monitoring, analysing and optimising communications and marketing performance through data, metrics and analytics;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English (C1 level or above), both written and spoken;
  • Committed, proactive, trustworthy, accurate, and respectful of timelines and deadlines;
  • A positive 'can-do' mindset, with the ability to provide strategic direction while remaining hands-on with operational delivery;
  • Team player who can work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous work experience in a KIC, ideally within a cross-KIC initiative;
  • Previous experience with B2C Edtech platforms;
  • Any additional EU language is a plus.
