ABOUT EIT FOOD

EIT Food is Europe’s leading food innovation initiative, working to make the food system more sustainable, healthy and trusted by consumers. Established by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) in 2017, EIT Food is a fast-growing partnership organisation focusing on entrepreneurship and innovation in the food sector.

EIT Food aims to achieve long term financial sustainability and independence from EIT funding, and is implementing a Financial Sustainability Plan which is detailed in the EIT Food Strategic Agenda 2021-2027.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

EIT Food is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance project manager to join our dynamic finance team. The Finance project manager will be the right hand of the CFO, playing a crucial role in ensuring EIT Food's the successful implementation of our financial strategy. On top of your finance project manager role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the secretarial duties linked to the Supervisory board and Partners assembly, including planning, action log, follow-up and being the single point of contact.

This senior position requires strong project management skills, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to senior management. As this is a new role, the job description is a starting point and can be tailored to fit the specific needs and structure of EIT Food. It’s important to note that the role may evolve as the organization grows and changes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage financial projects from inception to completion, ensuring they align with EIT Food’s strategic financial objectives. Examples of projects (but not limited to):
    • to shape the annual closure of the accounts for on time quality data;
    • to develop a costing/pricing model to apply automatically by the teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project scopes, objectives, and ensure resource availability and allocation;
  • Develop detailed project plans to track progress and manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs;
  • Measure project performance using appropriate financial and project management tools and techniques;
  • Report and escalate to management as needed, presenting regular financial reports and project updates;
  • Manage the relationship with all stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners;
  • Perform risk management analysis to minimize project risks;
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Company secretariat: responsibilities ranging from financial reporting to event preparation and collaborative presentation management:

  • Authoring the EIT Food ivzw Annual Report for 2023, detailing financial positions and activities;
  • Prepare for the Partner Assembly & Supervisory board, including sharing folders and discussing the agenda and launch email;
  • Collaborate on the partners and supervisory board presentation, managing access to SharePoint and updating finance slides;
  • Act as single Finance POC for all sub-committees formed out of the supervisory board.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent by experience;
  • PMP/PRINCE II or similar certification is a plus;
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance role, preferably within a non-profit or fast-growing organization;
  • Proven working experience in project management, specifically within a financial context;
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking abilities;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong project leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Experience with project management software tools;
  • In-depth Knowledge of an ERP system is a must; implementation experience is a plus;
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other European languages is advantageous.

LOCATION & TRAVEL FREQUENCY

EIT Food HQ, Leuven (Belgium).

Occasional travel within Europe.
