Aqua Publica Europea (APE) is the European association of public water utilities. Our mission is to promote public water management at European and international level.

APE brings together public water operators and their national associations from 11 different European countries. Overall, our members provide high quality water and sanitation services to over 70 million European citizens.

We are recruiting a Junior Communication and Membership Management Officer to join the association’s Secretariat based in Brussels. The successful candidate will be part of a small but growing team.

Tasks:

  • Managing the website and keeping it up-to-date;
  • Creating content (news items, press releases and others) related to the activities of APE and its members, and to any relevant policy developments;
  • Editing the internal and external newsletters;
  • Managing the APE social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn) and increasing their visibility;
  • Managing the communication activities related to the implementation of EU-funded projects;
  • Assisting the Secretariat in drafting, editing and reviewing print publications and other communication materials (annual reports, studies, etc.);
  • Managing the internal and external contact databases;
  • Providing assistance with general membership management activities: facilitating communication exchange among members, giving support on administrative and financial issues, etc.;
  • Organising internal and external events and meetings.

Profile:

Essential

  • University degree in any relevant field related to EU policies;
  • At least one year professional experience in Brussels encompassing communication activities on EU-related topics and membership-management tasks;
  • Outstanding written and spoken English and French; a good level of Spanish and/or Italian is highly desirable;
  • Experience with website and social media management;
  • Good knowledge of EU policy-making;
  • Flexibility and capacity to work under tight deadlines;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of EU water and internal-market policies, and of the water sector;
  • Experience in EU project management;
  • Experience in advocacy or campaigning activities;
  • Experience in working with media;
  • Experience in editing print publications;
  • Knowledge of photo editing and graphic design tools;
  • Ability to develop communication strategies and plans;
  • Proficiency in any other European languages.

What we offer:

Permanent full-time contract under Belgian law. APE will offer a salary in with experience. The salary package includes “Chèques Repas” and partial reimbursement of transportation costs (public transport).
